The Condorito Program is designed so that in the short term there will be a percentage of students
who will dominate English as a second language and in this way they will be in a better position to communicate with the foreign community that exists in Chile today.
This program is based on Syllabus Books "CONDORITO AND HIS FRIENDS STUDY ENGLISH",
developed for children from 1st to 4th grades of primary schooling. It mixes innovative methods and interesting designs and sketches, that gives a result of motivated children, as the texts are dynamic, creative and very Chilean.
In the first stage, students will become familiar with pronunciation and get to know the different
sounds of the language through repetition and listening, as well as through the grammatical structure of the texts.
The main psychological factors occupied in the production are the following:
EDUCATIVE FACTOR; There is an interaction between teachers and students in the classroom
through this leading-edge program, and while teachers teach students to speak the language, they are themselves learning English.
FAMILY FACTOR; Because of the easy learning system, there is an interaction between
parents, brothers and sisters and the student, making the procedure of learning much easier, by allowing these same students to reinforce the pronunciation and the daily conversation as they tell their family what they have learned in their latest lessons.
Our experience is that many families have taken the program as a FAMILY PROJECT at home.
BUSINESS FACTOR; We have an ever-increasing number of companies that are participating in
the program by donating a number of texts to schools. Some of these companies are: SOFOFA, RUNGE LATINAMERICA, CINE HOYTS, SONAMI, MINERA VALLE CENTRAL, TECSINOX, FRAZER ALEXANDER, MINERA LAS CENIZAS and many more.
Today there is an interaction of experience between teachers of State and Private schools, with the
Private schools giving full support to our Condorito Program with free training to Teachers from the State schools by inviting them into their classrooms to see first-hand, their English teaching techniques.
MAIN GOAL: To help spread English as a second language to students throughout Chile.
SPECIFIC GOAL: We are aiming, by the year 2010, to teach English to 10% of Chilean students
in first to fourth grade, so that they can understand and communicate in that language, and have a solid base to effectively utilize the 5th grade texts that the Ministry of Education distribute from that year onwards.
Who benefits from this Project?
Future generations of Chileans - students in schools in Chile from Arica to Punta Arenas.
The community also receives benefits, as the donations of companies, often from the same community, help
children achieve better quality of life as a result of learning a better level of English.
It is a Bicentenary Project and is ideal to have been given "patrocinio" of the Bicentenary Commission as
it will have a positive impact on future leaders of the country.
By achieving a higher level of English skills, children will be guaranteed a better life for
themselves and their family. Better English equates to better jobs!
This Project has been functioning since 2004, and it involves and will improve the lives of a large number
of Chileans.
One of the most important elements for a student is that during the process of learning, they have the
unconditional support of their family and that is why the technical team who developed this teaching
program decided to make the family part of the process.
For large, medium and small companies alike, it is important to give full support to future
generations of children who one day may became their bilingual employees, and who will be better
equipped to insert themselves in the globalized world of today.
Our studies and investigations carried out before and during the last three years of application of the
Condorito English Program in schools, and the tried and true methods applied in this course have shown us just how enthusiastic and eager Chileans are to learn to speak English correctly.
